09.08.20 | trying out something new: journaling about films! i saw andrey zvyagintsev’s the return and beat takeshi’s hana-bi and they both shook me out of my mind. there is so much to unpack, explore, and interpret in both films that the next morning i had to sit down and get everything on my mind down on paper.
i saw both films on mubi, a fantastic international film streaming service!! their student accounts used to be free (and aren’t anymore rip) but i still highly recommend – totally worth it for film nerds like me.
